So… here we go again…?

Okay okay. I know I promised I’d be updating a lot more buuuuut life got in the way. Herp. :v

Anyway as the accompanying image might suggest… I WENT AND DID IT AGAIN. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. >___<;;;

I swear people need to stop leaving me alone in the middle of the night with a credit card.

Basically ONCE AGAIN, I’ve painted myself into a corner by booking flight tickets to Tokyo without first securing a visa. I also haven’t filed my work leaves yet ahahahaha HELP.

And yes, after booking the flight, I AGAIN immediately booked an AirBnB because MIGHT AS WELL, I GUESS???

So yes, I’ll be updating the counter on this site, as I spend another number of months freaking out and panicking as I try go through the visa application process again.

Wish me luck. T__T;;

HELLO I’M ALIVE

YES. We actually made it to Japan, enjoyed a FANTASTIC two weeks in Tokyo, and made it back to Manila in one piece.

We just got busy (and lazy) and I honestly sort of forgot about this blog (hahahaha I’m so sorry….) BUT HERE WE ARE, and I’m back lol.

Well, if anyone’s interested, I’ll most likely be posting tips and advice on stuff to do WHILE you’re in Japan, and if ever, I might also be posting about how to get a multiple-entry visa… fingers crossed. >___<;;;

T minus Eight Days to Tokyo

HOLY SHIT

So I take a quick peek at this blog and notice the counter in the sidebar… and I immediately have a panic attack lol.

OH. MY. GOD. EIGHT DAYS TO GO.

Not two years, which is since when this trip should have happened since it was supposed to be our honeymoon.

Not eight months, which was when we started playing with the idea of skipping Italy and going to Japan instead.

Not four months, when I paid for some plane tickets, knowing I could end up not using them.

Not three months, which was when I only started putting together my documents for my Japanese tourist visa application.

EIGHT DAYS.

How to Get a Tourist Visa for Japan (if you’re from the Philippines and have NO ITR!)

Steps I took. Tips and advice for freelancers and work-from-home folks with no Income Tax Return form

Okay, first of all, I am still OVER THE MOON about the fact that this trip is finally happening. We haven’t quite ironed out the exact details involving train passes and transpo, and show tickets, etc, but we figured we can probably wing some of those.

As far as we’re concerned, the hardest part is over. I finally got my Japanese visa! YAY! ❤ This is a big thing for me because I had all of these working AGAINST me:

  • I have a weak-ass Filipino passport and it is normally notoriously hard to get into Japan for us Filipinos.
  • I have no Income Tax Return (ITR).
  • I am a freelancer /  telecommuter / work from home / “no real job” lol.
  • I am NOT well-traveled prior to applying for a visa. My passport was EMPTY.
  • I am not a millionaire. I am as middle class as they come.

I have so many other thoughts about this, but I’ll save that for another post. This blog post will simply be me telling you exactly what I did when I applied for my visa.

IF YOU PLAN TO TAKE THE SAME STEPS, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS ONLY A GUIDELINE. I DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL ALSO WORK FOR YOU AND YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. PLEASE CONSULT WITH A TRAVEL AGENCY FOR PROPER VISA ADVICE AND FOR AN UPDATED LIST OF VISA REQUIREMENTS.

With that out of the way, here’s what I did. (Long read ahead!!)

IT’S HAPPENING, GUYS. D:

SOMEHOW, IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING

OMFG I AM STILL IN THIS DELIGHTED, SHOCKED STATE.

Somehow, after three/four months of anxiety, I got my Tourist Japanese Visa today. And with 36 days to spare!

THANK YOU, UNIVERSE!!!! ❤

There’s just overwhelming relief right now, and I’m still trying to breathe.

Will write a full entry on the process I went through to get my visa, so watch out for that soon!

JAPAN, HERE WE COME! ❤

Overwatch Summer Games Event 2017

Most importantly: LUCIOBALL IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello. Yes, I am indeed still alive lol. No… I still don’t have a visa for Japan, but let’s skip that for now. ;w;

I’m just here to spazz out over the Overwatch Summer Games event for this year, because despite all the usual whining from the player base, I LOVE the new skins and cosmetics from this event!

Screenshots and some light commentary below lol.

Memento Mori

(This post was started early/mid June. I only got to finish it now that it’s July. It took me a while to get this all down…)

Hello. Yeah, I’m still alive. You know how you’ve been planning to write for at least the past two weeks, and you’ve been itching to type everything down, but then… stuff happen and you don’t.

It’s been like that.

So anyway I think I’ve mostly been unprepared to write anything lately, because on top of dealing with the usual work-life stuff (plus gaming, of course), I’ve also been dealing with death.

Thankfully (???) not of anyone close to me… but it still gets to you, you know?

Let’s start with the first.

Overwatch Anniversary Event Ends, New Maps on the Horizon

See what I did there..? :3

And so another Overwatch event has ended, and I think I did okay on the lootbox side of things lol. I managed to get two of three legendary skins I really wanted, and I got the player icons, voice lines, and emotes that I was after.

So yeah, not bad, I guess.

I DO agree though, that this event’s loot drops seemed worse than previous events. I’m sure there were also lucky players out there who continually kept pulling legendaries, but in my case, about 75% of what I got was… well… garbage lol.

On one hand, I’m not really complaining because I still had fun and everything was FREE. On the other hand, I had to spend coins for the Symmetra Oasis skin as I NEVER saw her drop even once throughout my whole playthrough, so that’s a little frustrating. … buuuuuuut then again, this is the point where I tell myself that I should simply spend the non-event periods frantically saving up currency for when the next event drops. ^_^;;;

Anyway, I got my curry kween, so I’m good. 😀 How was everyone else’s run?

5 Ways To Rank Up in Overwatch Competitive (by Jamilah Lim)

Because we all wanna win, right?

Lol sorry for the lack of updates.

Anyway, season 5 of Overwatch has recently begun, and I’ve decided to dive in it this time around, after missing seasons 3 and 4 (I was in season 1 and 2, but it was on PS4. I only got my PC account late in 2016).

So far I’m still completing my placement matches, and I’m currently at 2 wins, 1 loss at this point. Then I took a break because I’m weaksauce like that hahahaha. 😀

In any case, I found this post on one of my favorite Overwatch Facebook groups, Blackwatch, and I thought it might be super useful for a lot of people, including myself.

Again, not written by me, but rather by Ms. Jamilah Lim, and I’m just reposting it here with minor cosmetic edits.

Enjoy!
